London: Pineapple Dance Studios

Genom Malin har jag ju fått vara en del av danslivet under drygt 20 år. Att dansa var min egna barndomsdröm som aldrig gick i uppfyllelse men som jag istället har pushat henne till - på gott och på ont! Och nu när vi var i London, Covent Garden var vi bara tvungna att titta in till Pineapple Dance Studios, en känd dansskola som bland annat figurerat på TV genom en egen reality serie som gick här i Sverige för några år sen. 
Det är nåt visst med dansvärlden, och kanske är det just hårt arbete med att pressa sin kropp till yttersta som gör dessa människor så coola och avslappnade till livet!

Translation:
Through my daughter Malin, I've lived with dance for over 20 years, to be a dancer was my own childhood dream, but as it never really happened to me, I have instead pushed her to do it - for good and for bad! And now, when we were in London we just had to pass by the famous dance school 
Pineapple Dance Studios. I love the world of dance, especially the people; it's something special about them, I think working so hard with your body makes you relaxed, cool and life seems so much more fun!

Det är bara att konstatera, det var på 70-talet livet började på allvar!
I lördags firade vi Cissan, Lena och Maggan som alla fyller 50 i år, med tema 70 talet. Hur kul som helst! Saken är den att jag gillar modet från just detta årtionde, fast gärna i modern tappning. Och kläderna vi har på oss är ju faktiskt nyinköpta - förutom halsbanden jag gjorde i slöjden på den tiden. Vi är nog mer 70-tal än vi anar, även nu 2013.

Last Saturday we celebrated Cecilia, Lena and Maggie whom all turns 50 this year, with a 70s theme. I like the 70s fashion, and it's funny that some of the clothes look just like today's, like ours, which actually are new bought. Except the necklaces I made at school when I was about 12 years old - how cute is that?!

I fredags unnade jag mig att tvätta och föna håret hos Frida på NK, perfekt eftersom jag bara sovit 3-4 timmar den natten - fattar inte varför? Hade tagit ett tufft spinningpass kvällen innan och var jättetrött men men vaknade mitt i natten och kunde inte somna om? När fönen började surra och värmen svepte skönt runt huvudet, ville jag bara luta mig tillbaka och sova igen. Men....som tur var har rean på NK startat och det får väl varje kvinna att vakna till igen ;) Och rea betyder förstås nya skor, närmare bestämt, 2 par!

After a bad sleep Friday night, I don't know why, because I had a tough spinning class Thursday and was pretty tired, I allowed myself a nice wash and blow dry at NK hair salon, and while Frida was doing my hair I almost felt asleep again. But luckily the sale has started at NK, and that of course, wakes up any woman! So my Friday ended up very well, with 2 new pair of shoes in my closet.

Floral - Denim - Black

Blommigt är egentligen lite för gulligt för min stil, men när man kombinerar det med denim får byxorna en annan look - och sätter man till svart blir det helt klart lite tuffare. Byxorna och skjortan köpte jag på H&M redan i slutet av februari och gissa om jag blev förvånad när jag sen såg byxorna på H&M i 
New York i mars, för halva priset!! - Va? Ska inte deras kläder vara billigare i Sverige??


Translation:
Florals are actually a bit too cute for my style, but if you pair it with denim you get another look - and then if you add black, it becomes really cool. The pants and denim shirt I bought at H&M at the end of February, but guess if I was surprised when I saw the pants at H&M in New York in March, for half the price! - What? Shouldn't their clothes be cheaper in Sweden?

I Want - Michael Kors

Jag är ju ett stort fan av Michael Kors - kan inte påstå att jag äger en massa saker med hans namn på, faktum är jag sålt de väskorna och skorna jag hade, men det är bara för att få råd att köpa något nytt istället. Fast pilotbågarna, som jag gillar jätte mycket, dom finns kvar i min garderob.

Men, när jag ser de här bilderna har jag bara lust att sätta mig på ett plan direkt, och åka över till New York - med en tom resväska - och en full plånbok förstås!

Nu får det hända något! 
Man ska vara så tacksam hela tiden; att man har jobb, att man är frisk (bruten handled räknas väl inte?!), att man har familj, mat på bordet.....bla, bla, bla.....
Ska man bara sätta sig ner och vara nöjd nu? That's it! Nu har jag uppnått allt livet handlar om, det som förväntades av mig?
Nä, det är INTE jag! Det snacket är jag trött på, och samma CD spelas upp varje vecka: 
- Äta, sova, arbeta, pengar, företag, äktenskap (jo, det är en kamp som heter duga)....och så en och annan avstickare till New York. Tack gode gud Malin, för att NY var ditt stora mål efter gymnasiet, och tack för att jag får vara en del av det - trots att det inte riktigt var av den rätta anledningen. Men vi har definitivt lärt oss mycket om oss själva, och varandra. 
Och tack Alex, min grymma och bästa son man kan önska, du är så otroligt klok och mogen för din ålder. Ditt år i Atlanta, Georgia har gjort dig, till en förebild även för mig. Ditt sätt att se på livet och orka vardagen har gett mig en enormt stark tro på livet - You know what I mean!
Faktum är att de senaste 2 åren har fått mig, att ifrågasätta mitt egna liv:
 - Vart är JAG på väg?
Det enda säkra svaret är: 
- Stannar jag här lär jag inte komma någonstans - och någonstans SKA jag, genom att ta ett litet steg varje dag....även om det gör ont ibland!

Sometime, it feels like life is only about eating, sleeping, money, work, marriage (yes, marriage is a struggle). Now, when I've achieved what is expected of me, is it time for me to just to sit down, and be pleased!?
- No, NOT me! I will not go for that!
Thanks to Malin, my emotional, angel daughter, I've been a part of her adventure in New York. And thanks to my awesome, great son Alex, after his 1 year trip in Atlanta, Georgia, he has become so wise and mature for his age, a role model even for me. All this has made me get a new perspective on life, and made me realize that my journey doesn't end here.
So, the last couple of years actually made me ask the question:
- Where am I going?
If I stay here I probably won't go anywhere, anytime soon - but I want, and I'm going somewhere, by making small steps everyday....even if it hurts sometime!

New York: Thank You Diane Von Furstenberg

Åkte ner till Bed Bath & Beyond för att göra några inköp till lägenheten – när vi hoppade av metron vid Lincoln Center, 66th street, såg vi att  det var ett Red Carpet Event, och då blir man ju lite nyfiken, kanske någon kändisspotting?

Jajamen,  Diane Von Furstenberg m.fl (som vi inte kände igen) höll presskonferans utanför Women in the World. Hade vi orkat stanna några timmar till hade vi fått se Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Eva Longoria, Hillary Clinton m.fl

Men ….. istället tog vi en fika på Starbucks. Hmm, vad är väl lite kändisar mot en fika på Starbucks?!!

Men jag är glad att jag fick en skymt av Diane, som jag alltid tyckt verkar vara så häftig. Detta är en av de saker som är så roliga med New York, och som knappast skulle hända i lilla Göteborg.

Harlem: Follow me up on the Rooftop

These photos were taken just some days before my broken-wrist-accident, the first week here in NYC and I had so many hopes for going out, putting on some nice clothes but sometimes life takes you in a different direction.

And this day, I must be honest, the weather wasn't good enough for going out in this outfit. Actually we took these pictures on the rooftop just because it was so cold outside, but I wanted to show you my new shirt from H&M. Usually I don't wear this yellow/pattern color, but I thought it looked really cool together with the denim jacket.

Finally, the sun is shining! I mean here in Sweden the weather is such a dear subject, we live in a country that really is lacking both warmth and sun. So a day like this, when you actually realize that spring is approaching, you just want to take your coat off and sunglasses on.

Fashion is Fun: Big Necklaces

I'm not talking about my hair, even if I sometimes find it too much and too big!

No, this time I'm talking about necklaces, big ones! I'm so into what a bold accessory can do for your outfit. This necklace I bought at H&M and I just love the way it brings life to my old Diesel t-shirt again.

The School of Cool: Viviana Volpicella

Almost every home, right now is decorated with a bouquet of tulips - I know we are craving for sun and spring, especially here in Sweden . But why not go all in and put some color or flowers on your clothing instead? 

The Italian Viviana Volpicella really knows how to combine color and pattern, and I totally love how fearless she is in her style, it doesn't become wrong at all. 

I have seen a pair of floral pants at H&M, not as daring as Viviana's outfit but I think I'm gonna go for it!

It's not that I'm waiting for rain,

But a rainy day feels so much better in a pair of Burberry.

The School of Cool: Prada

Jag älskar hur Prada mixar annorlunda färger. Plötsligt blir rosa så häftigt och jag vill också sätta ihop min garderob på samma sätt.

Gothenburg: Where is the Spring?

Nu längtar man verkligen efter våren och ljusare dagar. När jag tittar på min garderob ser den så mörk och dyster ut. Måste köpa lite färgstarka kläder!

Gjorde i alla fall mitt bästa här om dagen genom att liva upp min outfit med en orange t-shirt, och lite gladare blev jag faktiskt!

Gothenburg: Let it Snow

Fortfarande vinter, snö och kallt - då kan en röd kappa o en cool hatt verkligen humöret! Dessa foton på Malin, tog jag förra veckan utanför Hotell Ritz, Bastionsplatsen i Göteborg.

This coat I bought at Zara 2 years ago and I still like it a lot, I like the model and not least the pattern, I totally understand what Miuccia Prada mean when she says:

- I am very interested in women’s obsessions. Many of my collections focus on women’s obsession with animal fur, with animal prints.

Har alltid gillat hattar, ända sen jag var liten. En hatt drar till sig uppmärksamhet och det spelar ingen roll hur du klär dig - idag finns det en hatt för varje stil och tillfälle.

Det är något speciellt, nästan lite sexigt med en kvinna i snygg kostym - Älskar den här androgyna stilen, mixen mellan manligt och kvinnligt!

Sweden: January Treatment

Regn, blåst, mörkt och rätt som det är kommer snön igen - Efter december som är full med aktiviteter kommer januari som en ganska deppig månad. Då blir en morgon fika på stan extra mysig!

Translation:
